It is often only in hindsight we realise that our time could have been spent better, and this is very much the case when I think of Markku; where too many chances to grab a coffee or to catch up were missed during our time in the Mission, with no chances of rectifying this mistake. Markku was much more than a colleague, he was an institution in himself, and his trademark catchphrase “Garowe Out” is an endearing way of remembering him by. I know that his loss is bound to leave a vast empty space for those close to him, it will for us, his colleagues, but even more so for you, his family and for his friends across the world. Words cant fill the void, but I hope this book will help to express the admiration we shared for Markku, and the importance of the life he led. My deepest condolences for your loss.
