Dear Sarah and Paul It was a real privilege to attend the service for Tommy on behalf of all your friends at the Memories Cafe. It was such a moving tribute to your beautiful talented boy and I hope you found some comfort from seeing so many of his friends who came to pay their respects and show their love for him. Such a very difficult day for you. He obviously touched so many people in all the aspects of his life with his warmth, humour and kindness and they spoke of him with such affection and will always remember him. The tributes, readings and music were beautiful and in the second hall there wasn’t a dry eye when everyone joined in with ‘Swing Low’ – it was very special. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. With love from us all Valerie…

We only had the pleasure of knowing Tommy for a fairly short time during his period at The Fox, but we will always remember his outgoing personality and all the kindness and friendship he showed to us both with much affection.  He was an exceptional person and he is sadly missed….

We had the fun and privilege to witness Tommy grow from an energetic, cheeky, into everything boy to the successful man who achieved so much in his all too short life. He was so loved by so many and will never be forgotten …

Tommy it was always a pleasure to spend time with you. Either on the golf course or at the Fox. You were wise far beyond your years. I remember getting the guided tour and history when we arrived at Moortown golf club on a Whistlebinkies annual tour a few years ago. My favourite memory is of Jim and myself coming to the Fox for a post golf meal. You were cooking and recommended a few things from your menu, the scotch egg starter will never be forgotten. A very fitting send off to an amazing young man. RIP Tommy…

Such a fitting service. There was so much warmth, humour, generosity and erudition; much like Pritch himself. He will be sorely missed at the cricket club and by so many others besides. His multi-coloured scorebooks were always immaculately presented, much like Pritch himself, no matter how many pints were consumed. It was always a pleasure to see him holding court with all and sundry in the many after-match games of stick cricket. He touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way….

Tommy,   I can’t remember the exact first time we met, I guess I was too young to recall it. However I was told that our mother’s met while they were both pregnant with us at antenatal classes. You are one of those people in my life who I have always known and when I reflected back on my memories of you they intersect it all.   Primary school is such a lottery; your parents choose a school and your first friends in life are presented to you. I was very fortunate to attend the same school as you. Most children are like sheep and my experience as a teacher has highlighted this numerous times. However, you were not one of those children, you knew what you liked and you didn’t care what others thought. This was an outstanding quality to observe and something I couldn’t understand until much later in life. This I believe evidences your intelligence and ability and I can still clearly re-call a maths challenge we did. Most of our year struggling through it and their struggles very clear to see – myself included. But I turned round to see you there looking unphased and…

I will remember Tommy for his everlasting smile and love of sport. A massive personality and always super polite and respectful to folk. I have never seen Oxford RFC so packed or been to a funeral attended by so many people.  When my daughter was deciding on University, we visited Leeds and Tommy met us in the Union Bar – I was staggered at how many people knew him there: I think by that time he had been at Leeds for about 5 years. I can recall various events on the golf course with Tommy – most memorably him striping a 5 iron off the first tee on the green course at Frilford and it soaring like an eagle over the trees behind the green and over the road into the field behind, and secondly, him getting on the Par 5 third on the same course with a drive and a 6 iron and walking off with a 6 after 4-putting and blowing a gasket. We all knew about his sporting prowess, and it was also fantastic hearing about his thesis on Benjamin Disraeli from his Ph.D. Supervisor Professor Simon Green. A theme of the service was ‘See You…

Tommy became a good friend of mine through meeting at Sandys Piano bar. with a mutual love of food, wine and golf we always had lots to talk about. My partner Bekka and I would go for Sunday Roast at the fox most weekends. We could not stay away from Tommys amazing Roast beef. Our cocker spaniel Peggy was also great fan of the pork bites! Try as we might to replicate whats now afrectinaonly known as ‘Tommys roast beef’ we come close but it’s never quite the same. Tommy was a great chef. if only we knew how he made that gravy too. the picture I attach was taken late last year after a long crazy night out in town, and Tommy invited us back to the fox for after drinks. Once the whiskey came out I knew that was my cue to leave. he was on great form and looked so happy in his chair that night. A proud man exited for the future. we will miss him so much and will think about him everytime we smell ‘Tommys roast beef’ cooking in the oven. he was a credit to you all.Richard Miles. …

Dear Paul & Sarah, the service for Tommy was a beautiful celebration of his life. It is testament to how much he was loved by you both during his life, that he grew into the wonderful man he became. The view of hundreds of people in attendance at his funeral we hope, gives you both some comfort in your time of grief that he was truly loved by all and was ‘one of the good ones’. With heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of your Tommy, Mark and Natalie Brassill x …

Tommy was a true one of a kind, such a happy, funny, kind and caring man who always had time for everyone and anyone. Thursday highlights how much he was loved and thought of by so many people and was a beautiful tribute to his short but full life. I have many great memories of times on the golf course with Tommy as well as conversations in the pro shop about who’s swing he was going to emulate that day (usually either Darren Clarke or Ian Woosnam). I will miss him greatly like everyone who had the pleasure to meet him will. Paul and Sarah should be so proud of the son they raised and I hope they can find some solace in the love that Tommy received on Thursday. Rest in peace my friend, enjoy the fairways in the sky. …

This past Thursday truly demonstrated how well respected, loved, and missed Tommy is. A giant, a gentleman. Sincere and kind, with a disposition and level of positivity you couldn’t help but feel energised by. I will forever hold dear many of the memories from our golfing trips to South Africa, and whilst many of those involve accounts of golf course frustrations, debate about good foods, heavy drinking and masses of laughter, it’s those seemingly unimportant, throwaway comments that hold more weight than I ever realised. “Beautiful course this, beautiful day”. It was Tommy, and I’m honoured to have shared some of them with you. You are greatly missed. Until we meet again, mate. (Photo taken 4th November 2016)…

Dear Paul & Sarah It was a privilege to come to Tommy’s funeral service. For eight years during mini and junior rugby the boys and parents had a great friendship and we thank Tommy for making it very special. With love to you both from the Howells family…

Dear Sarah & Paul We both felt extremely honoured and privileged to be part of the celebration of Tommy’s life. The love and respect that so many people had for him was clearly shown by the vast amount  of people that were there to say farewell. He truly was an exceptional young man who achieved so much  in everything he was passionate about. Tommy was a credit to you both and proof of all the love, care and support that you gave him through his years.  Sending our love,     Ann & Sid…
