Tommy will be missed , by all who ventured into the Fox @ Boars Hill . His enthusiasm for life & his gift to make all feel welcome , will be greatly missed . To see the huge attendance at the funeral  , was hopefully a small comfort to the whole family . Oxford has lost a huge loveable character . RIP Tommy  , we are better , to have known you….

It was astonishing, but not surprising, to see how many people came today. It’s a true measure of how much of an impact Tommy had on so many people, and how much he lived his life to the fullest. Tommy will be remembered by everyone who knew him as the life and soul of any party – someone who always had a smile and a kind word for you, always had a story to tell, and who lived to make people happy and keep them entertained. He had the rare ability to make friends with anyone, from the golf course to the oche. The ceremony encapsulated all that was special about Tommy, and I hope the affection with which he was held by so many people will be of some comfort to his family…

Well my friend I guess the only thing to say to you is thank-you. The laughs we shared and memories we made will never be forgotten. You certainly lived life to the full and packed 10 times worth of adventures into your time with us. Proud is an understatement. The time in Bridlington at the darts when I fell asleep and you stopped the whole pub from drawing on me….then went and did it yourself. Just wow. Laughed all weekend. The places we went, the people we met and the things we got up to will fill me with joy forever. I’m certain we’ll meet again someday so for now I’ll just say ‘see you later’. Strength and love to your friends and family old boy. Love ya. X…

Dear Sarah and Paul, It was a privilege to know Tommy and to join the huge number of his friends at today’s very moving celebration of his life. I have some other nice pictures of Tommy from the Frewen Club trip to the Battle of Waterloo in 2015, and I very fondly remember his splendid lecture to us on the battlefield! Unfortunately I am not sufficiently technically competent to add more of these to this message but would be very happy to send them to you. Chris and I send you our most sincere condolences on the loss of your wondeful son. You’re constantly in our thoughts. Colin & Chris Holmes    …
