Ruth… It’s taken me a long time to write this. I don’t know who to address it to, to the beautiful family of Ruth who she talked about with such love and passion, or Ruth herself…the lady who gave me advice when I first became a mum, the lady who I was looking forward to seeing and telling how I’ve become such a better mum second time round. I’ll not get to have that conversation now but I know I don’t really need to.   She had time for everyone, she listened and I mean really listened. She giggled at stories we would share together and her giggle, along with Heathers, turned to belly chuckles. She was so thoughtful and knew if you needed a smile and a coffee. I will miss her heels clicking down the corridors when I return at the end of this month. Stanton Road will be missing an angel but I will try my best to take her attitude with me. I will smile, I will listen and I will try and keep the giggling going.   Ruth you were a legend! You will be remembered and the Stanton Road family are all the…

I have known Ruth for 7 years and during this time it has been a pleasure getting to know her. She was so friendly and helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble and she always had a smile for everyone.  We shared a love for gingerbread and whenever she visited Grasmere, would always bring me back some, so thoughtful and kind.  She will be sorely missed and I send my condolences to her family xx…

I feel genuinely blessed to have known Ruth. She was such a kind, thoughtful and wonderful lady. Every time I visited the office, Ruth always greeted me with such a warm and welcoming smile which always brightened my day. No matter how busy she was, Ruth was always incredibly thoughtful and always took the time to ask how I was (something that I always appreciated). I always enjoyed our chats about where we had been on holiday after each half term break. Sending my love and deepest sympathies to the Murphy family at this difficult time. Thank you for being such a ray of sunshine, Ruth. xx…

Ruth and her family have very much been in my thoughts these last few months. Ruth had such a lovely and caring personality with a gentle, natural empathy towards those around her. Ruth always greeted you with a warm smile and took the time to ask how you were. My very best wishes to Ruth’s cherished family. …

Ruth. A beautiful lady inside and out. A heart of gold. You were a very private person whose family and faith meant so much to you. You always took the time to ask us how we were doing and about our families. I loved hearing about your nordic walking and where you had walked. Your smiles and calmness around school have been missed. …

How very sad.  I was so sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing.  I first met Ruth when she joined the staff at Stanton Road, all those years ago. Ruth, Heather and I worked happily together in the School Office until I retired in 2013.  Ruth was a lovely person and a pleasure to spend time with and I know she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  My thoughts are with her family at this very sad time. …

Sending my deepest sympathies and so much love to the Murphy family. What a tragic loss of such a warm-spirited, kind-hearted soul.  Ruth had such a caring, gentle nature. No matter how busy or hectic our daily school lives were, Ruth always completed tasks with a smile and she was so professional. She would always take the time ask how you were. So very thoughtful. She was so genuine and caring, we exchanged encouraging words when we realised we shared a sadness and I will never forget her encouragement and sense of hope. Ruth, I’ve nothing but lovely things to say about you. You truly were a rare diamond and I am so sad we didn’t say goodbye, and you didn’t get to meet Zachary. You were so excited for me.  May you rest in peace xxxx…

Having known Ruth as a parent of children at Stanton for the last 14 years and as a work colleague for the last 7 years, Our family are really sad to hear of Ruth’s passing.  She literally was a genuinely lovely person ( as everyone on here has said about her ), nothing was too much trouble, and always with a smile on her face, she would ask how others are and “How was your weekend?” on a monday morning. I am really going to miss you Ruth, thank you for being so lovely. Thinking of your family, may you be at peace  Laura, Rhys and Polly xxx…

From the hearts of my family. We are so saddened by this news.  I have put 4 children through this school over the last 10 years and you were always there at the office window with a familiar smile on your face and willing to help any parent with anything they asked. I will miss seeing your face and send all our love to family and friends xxxx…
