It’s always the good ones that are taken too soon and Pete is no exception. He was so genuine and true to himself and that’s why he was loved so much by all. His professionalism and getting the tasks done whilst having a laugh was a signature. I have only known Pete for less than 10 years where we worked in different teams, but nevertheless Pete always had time for anyone and would go above and beyond to find a way how he could help. I was fortunate enough to get to know Pete better when he joined my team at the beginning of this year and I will cherish this time as a gift for having been given the opportunity to spend more time with him. His love for Janis, his family and friends was evident in all his stories and everything that he did and he will always be remembered for being one of the most generous, kind and considerate colleague and friend,  who will be missed by so many. Pete was amongst my closest friends at Mercedes-Benz. For over 20 years he was a voice of reason, a shoulder to cry on, an outstanding drinking buddy and a trusted confidant. Although it had been only for three years and is almost 5 years ago since I could work with him and having him in my team, I still remember him very well. Pete was such a special person who made a difference to many others, which I appreciated a lot about him. It is so sad he couldn’t stay longer with us, his family and friends. It was with great sadness to hear the shocking news of Pete’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Pete over the years on various IT projects for the Corporate team. He was always full of energy, dedicated and helpful no matter what the request. If it was something he didnt know, he would find out for us – our ‘IT go to Guru‘. Pete will be missed deeply not only by myself, but by all those who knew him in the Corporate team. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones….
