Het nieuws van je overlijden raakt me heel diep, als collega in Brussel. Ik kende je niet Noëmie, maar had je graag leren kennen. Het is niet met woorden te vatten dat je er nu niet meer bent. The world has lost a radiant bright light, and it has been very difficult to try to come to terms with the fact that Noëmi has been taken from us so early and tragically. She was such a gorgeous person, inside and out, with a heart of gold ♥ I consider myself very lucky to have known her, and to have worked with her in Kenya on issues that mattered deeply to her. She was dedicated, hard-working, insightful, deeply committed to social justice and passionate about making the world around her a better place. She was also funny, friendly, kind, happy and great fun, and had the most beautful laugh. My heart goes out to Arthur and Scott and to all her family and I send them love and light and strength. I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Noemi while she interned at the UNDP regional office in Dakar in 2006 and have since born witness to the tremendous force of her passion and convictions as she charged her career forward. It’s been difficult to write this. Noemi was love and light. She embraced Kenya and the human rights defenders network. She gave of herself and smiled as she did it. She was gently firm wanting the best for everyone and every situation! We have a lost a friend, a great colleague and a human rights champion!
