You will be sorely missed Mal. Music helps people and you found a way to really keep the vibe happy. No matter where or when you were always happy to stop for a chat with a massive smile. They say the best get taken first and that is always the case. The word legend is used a lot but to so many like me you will always be a legend. Rest easy Mal …

It’s crazy how someone you’ve never even met can bring so much positivity in to your life. Through some of the best and worst times I’ve had, Mallorca was there, alongside Scott bringing laughter through The Hashtag Show. I’ll be forever grateful for those laughs. I wish nothing but the best for his family and friends, which it was always clear he held so dearly. …

The day you told the world you’re terrible news, it brought an alarming sadness to everyone who knew you, we all prayed for a miracle cure and the go fund me page rattled up by us all wishing there was some hope of treatment for you, but sadly within weeks you were taken from us all, your death has cast a huge cloud over the Scottish music scene, but not only that, the music scene all over the world, you’re 1994 nights where the best gigs about and the only reason I ventured into town, otherwise I never felt the need or wanted to go out as the town isn’t the same anymore, but your 1994 nights were legendary, it brought back nostalgia and I always had a great time! But for now we are all sad about your passing, but I promise you this, we will all remember you, for the joyous music and entertainment you brought, to the laughs and carnage you created, for being a great friend to so many and most importantly a great family man! So when time has passed and hearts are beginning to be mended, we will hear one of your tunes…

I grew up listening to Ultra-Sonics music, Then in 2023 I was lucky enough to have the chance to work at a 1994 rave and meet Mall in person where he would offer a hand shake and allowed a photo opertunity, The man was the exact meaning of a gentleman and a legend who left us far too soon, God bless Mal and his family x…

A mass of energy and fun! The first time I experienced Ultrasonic was at the Calton Studios in Edinburgh. It was 1990/91 & I was a mere 14/15 years of age, yes underage but sensible 😉 The impact that evening had on me was immense and shaped my future social life. Yes I became a raver! I wasn’t the only person there that was absolutely drawn in. The whole room united through Mal’s mass of energy! What an experience, from the release of all inhibitions during Annihilating Rhythm to the goosebumps during Obsession. We were 1 🫶🏼 You will be greatly missed Mal. The scene won’t be the same without you. I know I speak for many when I say thank you, not only for the music but for your commitment to keeping the scene alive. 🕊️…

I only met you once and that was recently when we supported you in Brisbane a few months back. That night was fantastic, I’d never seen you play out before and the energy you showed was incredible. The crowd absolutely loved it. That event now has more significance of course now that you have gone. Gone in the physical sense because what you have left behind is one amazing legacy. It was an honour to share the same billing as you. Rest in peace. Stuart, Binary Finary….

My entrance to Rave music was with US. I shared this same experience with my younger brother who also entered the world of Rave music to US. My style of dance was recognised by Mal and I could tell he loved the 1994 crew from around the world. Every time Mal would visit Adelaide in South Australia I would make sure I was there, front and centre! I never missed a gift and Mal always stayed behind and said hello. He remembered Gigs I’d forgotten and remembered seeing the dance floor clear to let me tear up the dance floor to 1.2.3.4 I have so many found memories and friends I’ve met by being at an US gig. May the memories continue to flow and to his family know that if you ever need anything one of us “US” fans will be there to help. Mal’s big cheeky grin will forever be etched in our minds and his music will continue to flow on to the next generation of ravers. Peace, Love & Unity. 1994 forever …

Although I never got the opportunity to know you personally, I feel like I did; after growing up listening to your music and coming to see you. I want to thank you for helping me through lockdown. It was a difficult time and the effort you went to, streaming oor 1994 shows helped me so, so much. I’ll never forget dancin in my room with my T in the Park glow sticks, and a bottle of Absolute. You made it so much easier to cope with, and I will always treasure those memories and T-shirts lol. One thing I admired about you so much was that you were always the same, no matter how famous you got, you never changed, and that shows your true character through and through. My love and prayers will always be with your family, loosing someone you love in such a short period of time is one of the most devastating things to experience. Lastly, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for your amazing Tunez, the even better memories and the friends I have made along the way. I’ll miss the good times but more so I’ll miss the laughs. Godspeed on your new adventure, I…
