In Loving Memory of

Lianne Oliver

Lianne Oliver was a valued and much loved member of the Work Based Learning (WBL) Customer Services team at Pearson. Lianne joined the team in February 2014 and soon established herself as someone that could be trusted to do her absolute best for both her customers and her teammates. Lianne was equal parts caring and pragmatic which made her a very good person to talk to if you were having a problem. Lianne won many friends during her time at Pearson and we hope that some of these reflections from her current teammates will demonstrate how greatly she will be missed.

Lianne always had her own take on things and the life experience which always meant she never failed to help me and many others out with any problems. Nor would she bat an eyelid in helping you out if you needed it – with anything. Very knowledgeable and life skilled but she didnt take things too seriously and knew there was more to life that being absorbed in problems all the time. I always found that to be an admirable quality and she would openly speak with and get to know anybody that was willing to chat. Most of the time she would brighten their day Im sure – Ive seen her melt even the most cold of hearts and her genuine approach shone through which meant many had a soft spot where Lianne was concerned and its easy to understand why. She would always have the smarts and banter – loved a good chat and where possible a drink and a dance. She wasnt afraid to enjoy her life and its a shame that over the last few years she had some health troubles. I just feel like weve lost a really good and earnest friend and Ive…

I am so saddened to hear of Lianne’s passing.  I’ve worked with Lianne for a little while at Pearson and she was always more than willing to answer my daft questions no matter how daft they were or how obvious the answers were. Thank you Lianne for all your help, you will always be missed and fondly remembered xx…

I first worked with Lianne in Pearson VUE and then she moved over to Edexcel just before I did. She was a great friend we would go for meals and drinks together (most of time she would stick to lemonade!). She always made time for you if you needed her and loved to talk about Elesha and her dogs! I am going to miss her a lot….

Lianne started the same day I did in February 2014. She loved to meet up outside of work for a catch up and spoke so proudly about her daughter. She also mentioned her dogs. But one story I will remember her telling me was when she was having driving lessons and someone tried to steal the car. She said she recognised him told him she’d be having words with his mum if he didn’t move away. So he left. But that was the last time se saw the instructor. She seemed fearless and open. She will be missed. Her stories will stay with me though….

Shocked and upset to hear the news of Lianne passing the other day. She was a great person to speak to; remarkably open, honest and not afraid to speak her mind. However, it was also obvious that everything came from a place of love and respect. Lianne will be sorely missed. Sending all my love to her family at this difficult time xxx …

It was with great sadness that we found out the news about Lianne. She was and will always be remembered as a well liked, helpful and friendly member of the team.  I remember when I first started with Pearson in 2016 that she was always willing to help me in any way that she could and would always be willing to have a chat and ask how I was. She was truly a really lovely person and nobody will forget that.  Thoughts are with you and the rest of the family at this difficult time.  Danny …

I am so very sad to hear of Lianne’s passing. We both started working for Pearson around the same time and I found Lianne to be someone who Icould always have a chat with often sharing stories about family life. Lianne was such a warm and strong character with a quick wit. I admire her greatly and will miss her very much. Sending my deepest condolences at this very difficult time….

I am so sad to hear the news of Lianne’s passing. Lianne was a truly reliable member of the Customer Services team and was always willing to go the extra mile to help (customers and colleagues alike). She was so very proud of everything her daughter has achieved and we would also swap stories of our four-legged friends – working from home meant that they quite often joined in the conversation too!  Rest In Peace Lianne x  …

I am saddened to hear the news of Lianne’s passing. Lianne was a valued member of our team. A person who could be relied upon always. Barely a week went by without a customer praising her. Colleagues too.  More than that, Lianne was kind. She was friendly. She always had time for me and she made me smile often. I am grateful to have known her.  I will remember Lianne fondly. I send you my deepest condolences. …
