My memories of your wonderful fun loving , energetic , confident mum are : I loved working with her in RBS in particular during our time in Corporate Banking HR. We shared many a journey to London and overnight stays. It was hard but fun work and my memories of Emma are always around her drive for fitness, Intensity and drive to get the right solutions for her business and most importantly her sense of humour and fun. She was always up for a challenge in both work and outside of work especially around fitness . Miss her….

So…what can I say about your mummy Lana and Eve? Well…she was an amazing, fun, fit and crazy lady who I learnt a lot from and had great fun with too. My favourite memories would be in the gym where we were both super competitive around burpees, running, booking PT sessions and ensuring we could meet up to compare notes and spur each other on.  Gosh did we have a laugh…and did spur each other on!  In work your mummy was a professional, driven team player with a focus on helping others.  Always.   Just a she was super proud of you both and your daddy…you would be of her.  Most of all, you would have loved your very best forever friend.  Lol Soos x …

Your mum was a strong, hardworking, fun woman. She always shared stories of the family and how proud she was of her girls. You usually could hear Emma before you could see her as she was always happy and laughing! We always shared our diet plans in a bid to loose our baby weight.. Emma will be in our hearts and memories x …

My memories of Emma are all so positive, and all the more sad because of this.  The last time I saw her was at the Balmoral in Edinburgh where she was smiling hello to me from across the room – I wish I had gotten to speak to her that evening.  My first memory was sitting with her at a meeting in Corporate Banking down in London where her super sharp, pragmatic mind shone as bright as her warm smile. She was a down to earth, friendly, lovely person who had so much passion for life.  I remember her fitting in runs around work when down in London, and being full of love for her beautiful girls and her husband well, as well as juggling her busy career.  She is greatly missed by many of us who were lucky to know her and I can only imagine how much she is missed by her family. Dear Eve and Lana I worked with your lovely Mummy in the HR team at RBS Insurance 2007-08. She gave me loads of encouragement and support at a time when I needed it, and was a really caring colleague. She was a hugely capable leader and lots of fun too – I can still see her huge smile!  I know that she will be so proud of you both. Xx   …

I had the pleasure of of ‘hot desking’ next to Emma on a number of occassions whilst she worked as a Senior HR Business Partner in RBS Services.  She had an awesome smile and an even better laugh!  Emma was a bright, considered and thoughtful professional with an authentic and direct style.  She stood up for what she believed in and always had a view – always an individual.  As well as being someone who other HR professionals respected, the senior managers and Exec’s in her business trusted and respected her enormously too.  Like others I am glad to have known her and my thoughts are with her family and friends over the months and years to come….

Hi, Eve and Lana, This is Auntie Monica from Hong Kong.  I saw your beautiful pictures when I went to your mum’s office.  When we talked about you two, she was so proud of you and always had a great smile on her face.  When I first met your mum in Jan 2019, she was one of the speakers of an internal training course.  She was very energetic, enthusiastic and professional.  Hence, when she shared with me her health condition during our subsequent one-on-one catch up, I was so shocked and could not believe it.  I could not understand why she still came back to work as usual.  She told me that she would like to do something and have a normal life as she did not want to be a patient at home.  Your mum was such a strong life fighter that you should be very proud of.  When I saw her again in May 2019, she was still very committed to her job and we had meetings as usual.  I could see how she coached and supported her subordinates patiently.  When we chatted about you two, again she was very happy and shared a lot.  My last…

I worked with Emma initially at RBS where she was an energetic and driven HR professional, juggling multiple projects and delivering at pace. Amongst other roles I knew her best when she worked as part of a busy HR Director’s office and she managed to not only get things done, but also maintain relationships with colleagues and a sense of humour under pressure.  We stayed in touch over the years and I was delighted that she was at Baillie Gifford when joining the firm, she reached out and got in touch to welcome me before I joined, a thoughtful touch that was much appreciated, and was keen to help my on-boarding when I started. We met several times over the next few months to discuss and shape her role, having a professional focus was very important to her and she wanted to ensure that her role would be meaningful and make use of her skills and experience. She was honest and direct in her approach and we built a good understanding and mutual trust during these conversations. I have no doubt that she made a difference to her colleagues in the department and the firm, focussing on developing others…

Emma was an incredible professional. I knew her when she was Executive Assistant to the Global HR Director at RBS during the early/mid 2000s, a role that requires incredible capability, organisation and intellect.  Emma had all of that in bucket-fulls and the potential to do the job of any of the senior HR team around her – as she was to prove in the years to come. I worked in the reward team at the time and sat a few desks away from Emma in the office in St. Andrews Square.  Emma was bright, chatty and funny to have around, yet so helpful and generous with her guidance and support.  She was always caring and considerate, and the environment didn’t always appreciate that as it was tough and political, but she managed the toughness and the politics without losing sight of the consideration of others.  She was one of life’s great people and I’m so proud to have known her and learned from her, even for a short while.  We will miss her lots. xx…
