I was so shocked and sad to hear that Darren had passed away and my deepest sympathy goes to Darren’s family.     We are all energy and energy cannot be destroyed only changed, therefore there is no death just a change of worlds. Love is the bridge that connects the two worlds and so your love for Darren means you will always be connected. Healing wishes and love, Nicki  …

We had some laughs. Darren and I first met working at Lovell Partnerships. We hit it off when we started talking about our holidays, Darren loved a holiday! It wasn’t long before he invited me to the pub and from there we had some great laughs. We both left Lovell and virtually lost contact with each other, only staying in touch every now and then on Facebook. Years later I walk into the Durkan offices and there he was, that huge smile on his face followed by a ‘alright mate haha’. It wasn’t long before we were laughing about the good old days and our holiday adventures. I use to joke with him that he was a terrible surveyor and when he was stressed I use to tell him to ‘keep his hair on’ (running joke). In truth, he was a good at his job, dependable, conscientious and always wanted to do the right thing. Darren was a gent, a kind man who if he could would do anything for you, but most of all he was always wanting a laugh and to enjoy life as best he could.  It’s a great lost to Durkan and I will miss…

I did not work directly with Darren, but we had many conversations in the breakout area while making a drink. I remember when he was trying to give up smoking, we shared our experiences of this, and I tried to give him words of encouragement. He did quite well for a while then he fell of the wagon which we joked about, but also said never say never could always try again :). He always had a smile on his face and was a nice person, so sad that he has gone. Deepest condolences to his Family and Friends. Karen x…

All I can say about Darren is what a great person to know. He nearly always had a smile on his face and was so easy to talk to and get on with.   I enjoyed our occassional chats about nonsense when the office was a bit empty or over a drink on social events. It was unusual to find someone else who not only knew that great British cinematic classic Party Party, but also actually liked it.   Top on, top off Darren….

My deepest sympathy goes to Darrens family at what must be the saddest time for them. Darren was such a lovely person, always very helpful to me over the years whenever I needed assistance but what I remember best about Darren was his lovely smiling face whenever we chatted and that would always make me smile. He will be greatly missed by everyone, may he rest in peace Michelle…

Darren had a great sense of humour and whilst I didn’t work with him on a day-to-day basis we often shared a story ‘or two’ whilst out having a ‘fresh air’ break!  To hear of his sudden passing filled me with shock and sadness.  He was a genuine ‘nice guy’ and will be greatly missed….
