Unfortunately finding this link means this really is true. I am devastated, I only spoke to Charlotte a few weeks back and she was in high spirits despite the difficult diagnosis.  She was the first person I met at GDS at my interview back in 2017 when the offices were still in Holborn. We then worked together in the content teams on GOV.UK, her showing me the ropes of the role.  Always calm under pressure and to the point, Charlotte was not only a great leader and colleague but also a good friend. She contributed her skills and experience to the Digital Marketplace before going onto bigger and better things at the Home office.  She loved her new life by the sea, despite being a Londoner. She loved and cared about animals and even volunteered with the cadets!  She will be truly missed as a colleague and as a friend. I’m still in shock and struggling to accept this is possible. She had so much more life to live.  Her top work advice was that you can moan about work during the first after work drink and after that you need to talk about other, more important things!  My…

I am absolutely gutted at Charlotte’s passing and my deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends and husband. Charlotte was an exceptional colleague with a heart of gold and was such a lovely, funny and kind person. We will really miss her….

Dear Charlotte, you were one of the most genuine people it has been my pleasure to know. Throughout the time I knew you, you were always available with advice, to bounce around ideas, keep me sane or just for a good old chinwag in the pub, apropos of absolutely nothing!  An incredibly bright and warm light has been extinguished. Lots of love to your family and friends. Phil X…

I was so sorry and shocked to hear about Charlotte. During lockdown, we used to have regular catch ups – supposedly about work, but more often about animals and things that made us laugh or feel better during that strange time. Charlotte was just lovely and funny, and while we didn’t work together regularly, I often heard her name and know she was an inspirational leader who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. …

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Charlottes passing. She was not someone who I had crossed paths with in our repesctive professional careers, but I shared my high school education with Charlotte. We were in the same year and shared classes as we went through high school. The messages of rememberance and tributes shared all resonate with the teenage Charlotte I knew and at times admired. She had the ability to bring people along with her whilst being true to her values. My thoughts are with her colleagues, friends and family.  …

Charlotte really was “one of those” people who just got it. The humility, sense of humour and pragmatic way she approached every challenge was nothing short of inspirational. I’ll miss our chats about our next purchase from Sugarhill Brighton and admiring her brilliant dinosaur jumper! Taken too soon, rest in peace Charlotte; you are sorely missed and will continue to be….

The suddeness of your departure, Charlotte, has stunned us all but you leave behind so many good memories. These memories are of laughter, support and positive energy which is an amazing legacy and one in which I hope your family can take some comfort. I will personally miss our down-to-earth chats, the great advice and support in tougher times. Your colleagues will continue your legacy of reaching out to support one another in the ‘venting’ sessions you invented and pursued! A full life, cut short, but one that continually gave will continue to be a role model to me and many. My deepest sympathies are with your loved ones as they work through their grief. May God provide peace and strength to all, and may you rest in peace….

Although I had the opportunity to work with her for only a short time, she left a remarkable impression on me and all of us who knew her.  She will be greatly missed by all of us. I am still stunned at Charlotte’s passing – such a sad loss of such an amazing person and my thoughts go out to her family and other loved ones. Part of that sense of being stunned is the way in which she worked since her diagnosis, never a word of complaint and the only references to what she was going through were down to practicalities seen through a lens of her legendary good (and very dark) humour. We are all going to miss you Charlotte, you were taken way too soon but were an amazing example of living life in the moment and creating memories for all those who came into contact with you….

Charlotte was vibrant and so much fun. I met her through mutual friends while she was at university and she was part of our social group. She had a great sense of humour that was infectious and was just great company. It’s cruel when great people go before their time and condolences to her family and close friends. RIP x…
