I’m so deeply saddened to hear of Charlotte’s passing. I worked with Charlotte at GDS (and with David at BBC) and had the pleasure of working closely with her on a number of different projects and delivery community activities. Charlotte was a warm, deeply kind-hearted and talented colleague. Her excellence in her role was only surpassed by how much of a joy she was to work with. A great friend also, she was a big support to many of us at GDS. I remember, in particular, many conversations about planning her wedding to David – she spoke with such excitement and happiness about it. We’re all so much poorer to not have Charlotte with us. Heartfelt condolences to her family. Sending much love. …

This is such a shock and unbelievably sad. I worked with Charlotte at GDS and she was brilliant – a fantastic Delivery Manager, and above all kind, funny, and just an all-round lovely person. She’ll be greatly missed. …

Such Sad News. I worked with Charlotte on the PLF during the Covid-19 pandemic. Charlotte was a calm helm in what was an often choppy sea, during those early days of the startup again of international travel – completely unflappable, keeping us all on course, changing direction expertly when needed. Charlotte was an incredibly authentic, inspiring and friendly individual. My Condolences to Charlotte’s’ family. Rob Chapman…

I am so sad to hear that Charlotte has passed. We worked together on Digital Marketplace team at GDS. We organised first Veganuary support groups at GDS together, and it was so good having someone at work with whom I shared these values (and lunches). I remember us chatting at length about her animals, and also her listening to my stories of wedding preparations, and then me listening to her stories of wedding preparation. Charlotte was kind, quirky, and very trust-worthy. She was a great delivery manager, and a great colleague. She had an awesome sense of style, too. Thank you Charlotte for being in my life, and for support and warmth we could give each other. Thank you for being you, the world was a bit brighter by having you in it….

Dear Charlotte,   You were so exceptionally kind to me and in your Head of Role position you brought such calmness, kindness and consideration to the Delivery Community and the Home Office. I always remember the way you would listen to my woes and offer great advice, providing much needed grace during stressful periods. You had so much more to give. My deepest condolences with your family.    …

I still cannot believe the news and finding myself writing this message still is surreal. It was only a while back we had our risk review and Charlotte as always was full of smile, engaging and as always contributing to the risk discussion. She was an exceptional SLT to work with, always there to listen and help. Her lovely smile will be missed, and I am lucky to say that I met a one of a kind human name Charlotte Pike. My deepest sympathies go out to Charlotte, her family and friends. I hope you are now resting in peace Charlotte, you were taken way to soon  ……

I worked in the GOV.UK content team with Charlotte when I started at GDS in 2017. She was always friendly and supportive. Our paths crossed again briefly during the pandemic, when she’d moved to the Home Office, and she was as good-humoured as ever. This is such sad news – I’m very sorry for your loss….

So sad to hear about Charlotte. I was gutted when she left the Digital Marketplace team as I’d loved working with her so much – so kind and capable at the same time, and always ready to listen if I needed to vent. I remember once mentioning to Charlotte that my cat had gone off his food, and she immediately produced some turkey-flavour cat treats from her bag to give to me, to try and tempt him back to eating. She was prepared for anything! My thoughts are with her family x…

Dear Charlotte, I’m shocked and saddened to hear of your passing. Our lives crossed paths a quarter of a century ago. I see from these messages your sense of humour carried on for galently all these years and you made a wonderful impression on those you worked with. You have left so many at a loss and I’m some what lost for words. I’ll always remember going to my first ‘gig’ with you, where we waited for Bon Jovi to perform “It’s my life” and sang it at the top of our lungs. It’s taken on a different meaning now. All that was has passed, to the first – versöhnung und verzeihung. Rest in peace IHS. FE…

Dear Charlotte – I had the dubious pleasure of being your buddy when you first joined the Home Office, so I introduced you to the glories of Metro Point, and we didn’t stop laughing from that day on. I had the priivilege to work with you on the PLF where your endless patience became apparant and your diplomacy became ledgendary. Stepping into your shoes with the Delivery Managers role was eased greatly with your on tap advice, guidance and pragmatism whenever I had one of those “I know you’re busy but….” moments. We laughed and consumed too many snacks and realised the benefits of multi-coloured ink pens during that time – happy days. Latterly you were my boss, our regular catch ups focused on the important things, pets, holidays, food, nonsense and pretty much anything but the day job – a zest for life was so important. Our last conversation about hair-dos as a result of your treatment will be one I treasure. You were the ultimate professional and one of the good guys. My love and thoughts to your family. xx…

Charlotte and I worked together briefly for a few months at GDS during 2019 where she was the delivery manager on our team. She struck me as a lovely person who was larger than life and well-liked by all her colleagues. I’m deeply saddened to hear of her passing and will keep her family in my prayers….

I’m so saddened to hear about Charlotte’s passing. She was a calm, kind colleague who always made time for people and had a great sense of humour. I really enjoyed our time working together on the Digital Marketplace at GDS. Charlotte was a lovely person, and her loss is deeply felt. Sending my sympathies to her loved ones….

Charlotte was a lovely and fun person as well as being brilliant at what she did. It feels very recently that we were drinking at the dog and bull in Croydon. Very sad to hear that will be the last one. …

So sad to hear we’ve lost Charlotte, far far too soon. She was a fab colleague during the time we overlapped at GOV.UK. Wishing all those close to her the very best at this horribly tough time. …

Unfortunately finding this link means this really is true. I am devastated, I only spoke to Charlotte a few weeks back and she was in high spirits despite the difficult diagnosis.  She was the first person I met at GDS at my interview back in 2017 when the offices were still in Holborn. We then worked together in the content teams on GOV.UK, her showing me the ropes of the role.  Always calm under pressure and to the point Charlotte was not only a great leader and colleague but also a good friend. She contributed her skills and experience to the Digital Marketplace before going onto better things at the Home office.  She loved her new life by the sea, despite being a Londoner. She loved and cared about animals and even volunteered with the cadets!  She will be truly missed as a colleague and as a friend. I’m still in shock and struggling to accept this is possible. She had so much more life to live.  Her top work advice was that you can moan about work during the first after work drink and after that you need to talk about other, more important things!  My thoughts are…
