Remembering all the weekends and our holiday to Yogoslavia Brian and I shared with you and Lynne.  Also the times you helped with our renovation work and Brian enjoyed working through the different Whiskeys after a pint at the Cherry Tree. My thoughts are with all of you. Sylvia xx  …

I have many memories of our 62 years of marriage and these are for me to keep and some of which I have shared with friends and family.  So thinking very hard on what I was going to write I decided to copy this special poem for all of us who have lost loved ones just recently or just a few yeara go.  For me personally I feel that a beauty of a memory is that it is always there like a penny in your pocket you can take it anyway. When tomorrow starts without me and I am not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes are filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much loved me as I loved you too, and each time you think of I know you will miss me too, But, when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That someone came and called my name and took me by the hand. When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For…

Alan, I have known you and Lynn since the 80’s, ever since I taught John and Paul at Hartismere. Both you and Lynn were keen to support your boys in their French and used to come to learn French at my night class. You were kind enough to offer me tea each week and a lift back to School. I remember one evening you opened the car door for me and I exited face first !!! ,having tangled my feet in the safety belt. We did laugh! Malcolm and I enjoyed your company each time we met you in Pouzauges and when we had dinner at your house in Marsais Ste Radegonde. What a grand job you did renovating that house. It has been a privilege and pleasure to have known you, Alan. May you now rest in peace. Diana…

Uncle Alan, both you and your beloved sister have left us this year. Mum and you were always close. A bond forged during the wartime evacuation from London. There is sadness but also some comfort that you are both at peace together. My best memories are from when your mum-nan and I kept your boys and my brother and sister in check whlle you and Auntie Lyn together with my mum and dad went out to celebrate Christmas. Getting them to bed before you returned was a challenge with you and dad being a little worse for drinki and then trying to be quiet while preparing the presents and santa’s feast. Your legacy of teaching kids who needed a fresh start lives on. Farewell in body but you live on in people’s memories….

My uncle … What can I say you and mum left the same year!! I’m sure you both planned it.  I remember many childhood memories of our Christmas times  together all of us and the chaos that came with us 6 cousins together ( me being the only girl and I have never got over that 😂😂)  Hope you mum and dad get together up there 💙 …
