I was saddened to learn of Richard’s passing. Richard was my boss when I worked in Middlesex University between 2009-2012. He was not only one of the best bosses I have worked with but also a great mentor who led me into the research administration/management area and guided me to develop and move up in my career path. He helped me polish up my job applications and edited my writing. I since then moved onto a few other universities and became a qualified project manager.

I also got to know Jenny when working with Richard. In summer 2010, when my parents visited me from China, Richard and Jenny warmly invited us to their home for afternoon tea and showed us around their garden and green house. Lots of fond memories are in this lovely picture which was taken in that afternoon. I am forever grateful for Richard’s kindness and help and he will be greatly missed.
