I first met Simon in 1987 at Jardine Thompson Graham. It was my first job and Simon had so much time and patience for me. I could tell immediately he was a special person, so warm, friendly and of course funny. We both eventually left Jardines but always kept in touch, meeting up for beers ocassionally and he never changed. I last saw him in Leadenhall Market during one of the lockdowns, we chatted for a good half an hour (he loved a chat!) and he was the same old Simon cracking jokes, asking after myself and my family. It was an honour to have known him and I will miss him very much.
