We’ve lost a gem, a transformational leader and educationist par excellence. Mr Townsend, you made a mark in Marina within the short time you were with us. Your relationship with the students, staff and parents was unrivalled. Seeing you at the high school gate everyday welcoming your students has been reassuring. It is surreal that you are no longer with us. Having interacted closely with you in Edcom and board functions, I appreciate the impact you’ve made in teaching and learning. 

May God grant your family and the Marina family the fortitude to bear this painful loss.
