Linda Evans

Linda – we first met in Liverpool when you were living with Jan – my housemate and best friend from Coventry. It was just a few weeks after my dad had died and one of the worst times of my life. But, together with Jan, you and the rest of the Fulwood Road gang helped me through – and reminded me that it was okay to have fun and to laugh again.

I would drive over from Yorkshire most weekends – I was practically another housemate! Jeez – what times we had! Playing pool in The Cabin Club, kebabs on the way back, card games, drinks being delivered in a taxi by drivers who knew where to get them – no 24 hour shops back then, it was the 90s after all – parties and staying up until daylight (the poor neighbours).

You, Jan and I backpacked around Thailand together too – it was all billowing trousers, dry shampoo and lots of beer!

We didn’t get to see much of one another in recent years, life became busy for all of us. So, when Richard and I came to see Jan and Steve a couple of years ago, it was so bloody great to meet up with you, Andy, Alison and Geoff. You were still the same Linda – warm, funny, modest and constantly smiling.

Most of all in Fulwood Road, friendships were forged – friendships which will never be forgotten.

Oh – one other memory – you also taught me how to take the top off a bottle without the need for an opener – not Bangkok-style mind!!

My friend, I thank you. Sleep peacefully, much love, Tina XX
