Stephen, I was absolutely devastated to hear that you’d passed away. You were more than a teacher to me, you became a family friend. I have so many great memories of school that you are a part of. You were one of the very few teachers that had the ability to actually understand your pupils. You were an inspiring teacher and a fabulous role model. I can remember when it came to choosing my A- Levels, we had one of our many frank conversations, it went something along the lines of “Tash, if you choose Chemistry I will ensure that you pass. You won’t understand a word of what’s going on but don’t worry about that” in exchange for babysitting Christopher, you tutored me and I somehow got a C and you were right – I didn’t understand a word of it! you soon became a real friend of the family, coming to the house for drinks before my leaving ball and coming to my wedding reception. My family and I adored you. You really were one of the best. You will be missed by so many people. Thank you for everything you taught me, I will always remember you xx
