Jonathan Sigsworth

It is very hard to find the right words, when the circumstances are so sad, unfair and devastating.

Sigs gave a chance to lead the Scotland Region for Gallowglass early on in my career, when he really did not need to. Despite it being a stressful, utterly chaotic and mad year, I have nothing but fond memories of that period. This is mainly due to Sigs’ unwavering support, relaxed approach (while taking no prisoners!) and wicked sense of humour. He acted as mentor, let me vent when needed, and offered help, support, guidance and friendship. I would not have made it through this period without him, and can simply not thank him enough.

I have many brilliant memories of him, but one keeps coming back to me the last few weeks. Before I started in the management team, I spent a particularly muddy wet day building the fence in Glastonbury. The farmers decided to ‘manure’ the stretch we were building on that day.  My footwear wasn’t particularly suitable any more, which he noticed. We didn’t know each other particularly well at this point, but he literally gave me the boots of his feet and told me to keep them. I was a fan for life of the man after that.

You will be sorely missed mate, thank you for everything and rest in peace. My thoughts and condolences go to his wife, children, family, many friends and colleagues.
