When words fail, fond memories remain.
As all those before me who poured their memories of Simon onto these pages I share those intense mixed emotions of gratitude and deep sadness. No more words of encouragement, no more shared chuckles or sparkling enthusiasm for something a bit off topic with what the conversation started with, no more big ideas (amongst the clutter of papers), ….but many a plenty fond memories remain – universally shared across all those who wrote here and those who perhaps couldn’t find the words (I hear you). In life and in death bringing people together and valuing everyone’s voices – perhaps that’s one of the fondest memories to cherish of Simon. I hope that Simon’s family might find some solace in our shared outpouring of thoughts and borrow strength from the words of others when own words fail, but fond memories remain.
