I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Danny’s death.  Such a witty, kind and calm presence during our time at Knowles Hill Comprehensive in the early ’80s – somebody that could always be trusted, completely together and destined for great things.  When I read Louise’s beautiful Facebook tribute last week, particularly the part about your even trying to help those young people during a supposed night off in an African nightclub, I thought “Yep, that is SO the Danny I knew”.  You were clearly very loved Danny and I hope all the glowing tributes bring some semblance of comfort to your family at this awful time.  All of your Devon friends were so proud to hear of your OBE – your devotion to helping others acts as an inspiration to us all.  Thank you for all your hard work to make this crazy world a slightly better place.  Sleep well mate x
