Stuart Pickering-Brown

I first met Stuart when he was the external examiner for my PhD defence.  When I moved to UCL afterwards we kept in touch, as our paths crossed often at scientific conferences and through his work for Alzheimer’s Research UK, where he always championed early career researchers.  Stuart became a friend and trusted mentor, I enjoyed our discussions over a pint about science, scientific careers, trying to put the world to rights and gently teasing him for his love of the finer things in life such as “turning left” when boarding a plane.  I will miss him a great deal and I know his loss will be felt to the whole dementia research community. Sending my sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
