Paul Wheeler
Weeks have passed and it all just doesn’t seem real. It’s hard to express in a few words our shared sense of loss and just how much I will miss your presence in our football world and beyond.
Your humble kick about in Richmond some 20 years ago founded something that has given me and countless others a safe space to enjoy the passion of football and socialising within our community. Your dedication and involvement in growing the club to what it is today is a legacy that will live on for years to come. You welcomed me warmly into the Titans from the moment I donned my football boots 10 years ago, and it has been an absolute pleasure to play under your leadership for the majority of my time at the club, especially last season as your assistant.
You always knew how to make us all laugh, guide us in your managerial wisdom (with a splash of chaos) and provide a sassy side eye in friendly judgement. Your constant quick wit unmatched and revered by all. I also reflect fondly on our conversations to pass the time on long car journeys to the far reaches of London – always a mix of goss and more meaningful discussions, with musical numbers filling the background.
Sunday afternoons, football trips and club events are just not going to be the same but our memories and collective shared stories will continue to make us smile long into the future. Rest well, Ma x
