Neel Gorasia
Neel was a truly wonderful friend and colleague. I consider myself so lucky to have known him and to have benefitted from his intelligence, empathy, dedication and care for others. I always looked forward to our fortnightly Friday catch ups where we would talk about all sorts of things – from work, to life, and everything in between. I saved up any questions I had relating to the economy or business or psychology for those calls because I knew Neel would be able to teach me something and explain complicated concepts in a way I would understand.
Neel had a passion for helping and supporting others. He would often send practical tips and hints to the team about how to manage their day, or how to approach a piece of work or aspect of the role. He was so invested in helping others succeed, and that was such a fantastic attribute. Neel also always seemed to know when I needed a “pick me up”, sending me notes to cheer me up and make me smile. He was so caring and sensitive, and this is something I will always remember.
Any time Neel was around, be that in the office in his favourite suit, or on a call, the energy level in the room increased 100%. Neel was so full of energy and ideas and wisdom.
Neel was so proud of Rupen and would often fill me in on how Rupen was doing at school (always very well), or what homework was on the cards for that day. It was always wonderful to see Rupen appear at the door to Neel’s office, or to pop in to say “hi” when we were on calls together. Neel would also send me photos of the two of them out and about. When Neel told me that Rupen was learning the piano, I was so impressed, and Neel kindly shared a video of Rupen playing.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Neel was truly one of a kind and had such a positive impact on me and so many people. I will remember him always with much love.
