It’s hard to imagine that we’re writing condolence messages for someone that was so alive and vital. Jacqui and I were friends from age 10, in the classroom, on the netball court and on the hockey field. I was a daygirl but felt very included in the borders’ club. I looked up to Jacqui, she was so smart and funny. This particular classs of HFC girls was and is special, and that is highlighted at the reunions. The love and kindness we felt for each other back then still exists. There was real joy in us all reconnecting. It makes this that much harder to think that the reunions will be tinged with sadness at the loss of someone that was such a part of our collective story. For you, her family, you know how amazing she was as a sister, daughter, mum, aunt and your loss is unbearable. For us, to lose a school friend, a friend that we just got to know again is so sad. She will leave a void in all of our lives. Loving thoughts to all the family.
