Stephen Baker

Condolences to the family of Stephen Baker. It was with sadness the news landed in my inbox. Stephen had a way of making everyone smile and at the same time scratch their head. He was smart and knowledgable and from the first proper conversation we found a common understanding. We had inside jokes and would write in German. There was a warmth to him that he conveyed through the teams calls with his laugh and the twinkel in his eye. He could poke fun at the lack of knowledge in a way that made you go and research it for the next time you spoke wiht him. He will be missed at work for the great contributions he made and also for the “battle of words” that could take place at our policy meetings. He made sure that walking away from an interaction with him, you felt you had learned something even if you felt a bit confused. Words can make you feel slightly better but it is time that will be your friend in turning sadness to a celebration of the good memories. Take each day as it comes and be kind to yourself there is no race to be won when it comes to grief. With great respect for the knowledge and the ledgend that Stephen was in CAA I hope you will find comfort in all the little messages from all his colleagues.
