Joe Heron
Joe was a one of life’s great humans.
From the hour we met, he was generous, warm, humourous and kind.
His spirit shone through in every interaction you had with him, be that his professional expertise, his sharp, biting wit, or the background hum you grew used to of the song Joe choose to be his for the day.
Joe brought you in to enjoy his experiences and share with him moments he was proud of, showing his dedication to be present with those around him.
And he was a man of principles – my first sight of these principles was when he took himself of to the pub while The Corona’s played at Momentum. When asked why he left, he said ‘My music taste is simple, anyone but the Corona’s’. This was proved later true when we swore to be back on the road to Dublin by 9pm at Evolve, when in fact he was the last to leave the dancefloor as ‘this DJ is just terrific’.
Joe never shied from being exactly who he was. A champion of all around him, he was a great support in tough times, and the biggest celebrant of the good times.
I am incredibly privledged to have called Joe my friend – and to have shared many margaritas with him.
But above it all, he was a devoted family man who lit up when speaking about his boys and Louise who he adored.
The world has lost a truly great man. He will not be forgotten.
Rest easy Joe.
