David Bartram

It was with great sadness that I heard David had died. I was privileged to have known David for some 25 years. We first met when he joined the former Willow Francis Veterinary team, to which had recently changed to Fort Dodge. David was an extremely knowledgeable and capable veterinary adviser to our team. He taught us a lot at a time when we were expanding and very busy – but despite his own personal challenges David always had time for his colleagues and had an excellent rapport with vets and farmers alike, especially when we toured the country giving talks on parasitology.

I feel David can be best described as a ‘gentleman and a gentle-man’ and always had a great sense of humour through some very challenging, but exciting times for us all. Whilst we hadn’t worked together for several years, since we all went our separate ways brought about by acquisitions and mergers, several of the old FD team continued to meet up regularly with David for a ‘Pie and a Pint’ 3 or 4 times a year and David remained a highly respected and good friend throughout it all. My attached photo was taken at one of those meetings.

David will be sorely missed by so many, and my sincere condolences go to his daughter Charlotte, of whom he was so very proud of, and all his family. Rest In Peace David
