You are a legend, I’ll never forget your driving test. I share stories of that test with my new students who need a bit if reassurance and proof that the examiners are human and not ogres. I tell them how, as you drew your driving licence out of your pocket, a big wedge of cash was carried out with it and as you handed the licence over the cash was passed to the examiner as well…

There was that awkward moment as the examiner asked “Are you bribing me?”. Followed by laughter as the mistake was resolved. It broke the ice very nicely and the test was of course a pass. No money passed hands!!

I’m stunned and sad to learn of your passing. Much too soon Simon. Earth is certainly sadder but heaven is richer for your presence.
