When I think of Owen, our first phone calls and meetings in Frankfurt come to mind. I admit that in the beginning I sometimes had difficulties following his Scottish accent because of my not so well-developed listening skills. But Owen was always very patient and considerate, so that quickly improved. I can truly say that during my professional time I have rarely met anyone who was so pleasant to work with. This was helped by Owen’s distinct friendliness and helpfulness, as well as his delightful sense of humor. I was not fortunate enough to know Owen privately, but I am sure it must have been great to have had him as a colleague, friend, father, or husband.
