Marion Milne

Marion 7

Here is Marion with her good friend Nicola Mowatt, ‘the dream team tealadies’ at one of the Nether Currie Primary Highland Games PTA events recently. It was difficult to find many photos of Marion on our PTA photos as she was always too busy doing what needed to be done to stop. Even here I think Nicola is holding her and she is still trying to get a hot chocolate done for a thirsty customer!

Marion was a continuous link between the PTA and the school and indeed between versions of the PTA as we travelled through the school and parents changed. She was instrumental in making sure that all the PTA events ran smoothly and worked with the committee every step of the way.

Marion has done a lot of work for PTA activities over the years, including uniform ordering, games club facilitating, being the hub for donations for raffles, collecting in raffle tickets and monies, distributing letters, sending emails, setting up, ordering supplies, tidying up, running events, getting the rag bag emptied, ensuring children were checked in and checked out for parties, being the first aider, serving teas, and many more. Marion was always willing to help in anyway she could and obviously cared deeply about our school and the children who go there. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Recently during hard times and cost of living crisis, we had been very lucky that Marion was also there for our families and she personally distributed supermarket vouchers and much needed help to those in need through our hardship grants. This was always done with discretion and care.

She will be missed so much and the PTA on behalf of all us who will have been in the PTA over two decades she has been with us at Nether Currie are so grateful for her help.
