A pleasure and a privilege to have known John. I first met him when he was auditing me as a VAB signatory – little did I then know I would be working alongside him at RSSB years later. As some have already said, he could be quite imposing – he clearly knew his stuff – but there was always that twinkle in his eye where that humour showed through, and it didn’t take long for him to put you at your ease! He will be missed – and fondly remembered – by many.
