Mary Harper
It was an honour to have known and be inspired by Mary.
I worked with Mary across several areas for Aviva Financial Advice (AFA) but most closely, we worked together on raising AFA/her external profile through the press, raising her profile internally to our colleagues and also being advocates for women in financial advice. “You are the face of Advice for Aviva” I would tell her, and her humble self would tend to disagree. Mary was always willing to take part in whatever I threw her way; no ask was ever too much. In whatever we pulled together to use for the team and our wider colleagues, she would often find a way of weaving in her family, her weekend or holiday plans; it was evident how much they meant to her. I recall the occasion she made a video for us to use with her two sons in at the very end, and how we practiced together for her debut on Uncut (a live show we have within Aviva). Mary was such a down to earth, witty and fearless person, whom I will always remember and who has lef this world far too soon. I’m so grateful to have had time with her as my colleague and leader.
On the 15th of March I’ll be thinking of you Mary – our birthday.
To her two boys, her husband, family and friends – I’m thinking of you all in this difficult time. May time bring peace and less tears. I’m so sorry for your loss.
With my deepest sympathy,
Monique xx
