Dear Louise, Jem, Rose and Elijah,
I first met Danny in my last, and your first, week in Uganda. Martin and I liked him immediately and I was so pleased to find myself working with him a few years later in Geneva.
Danny was a wonderful colleague and friend. He was committed to making the world a better place. He did this not only through his work on development and global health for which he was rightly awarded his OBE, but also in the way he treated others, with huge humanity, making everyone feel valued. And he was massive fun to be around.
He was taken from you too soon but achieved so much during his time on earth. He will live on in many, many hearts and memories.
Sending you my love and my heartfelt condolences,
Miriam
