Olivia Ansell: 1991 to 2025
Where does one begin. The loss of Olivia is devastating; it still feels unreal. The first time I met her was when I picked her up for lunch as part of her job interview. Right from the get-go, she was the most positive and warm person. She was confident, with a strong work ethic and a killer eye for the detail. She slipped seamlessly into the Learning & Development Team, rapidly becoming both the glue that bound the team together, and our gatekeeper – making sure nothing left the team that wasn’t spot on. We became a very close team, and Olivia was loved and respected in equal measure by me, James, David, Alex and all of our associates. She was the epitome of positivity, always had a smile and could turn around even the most difficult (and late paying) client.
She certainly was a party girl in those early years, and I am sure we all have great memories of those early Christmas parties where Olivia was the life and soul. One of my favourite memories is the ‘Bilson Tours’ ski trip, when we discovered we had our very own Bridget Jones. From the famous, purple, one-piece ski suit, to the number of times Andy Smith chased her loose skis around Chamonix, to the Apres-ski shots, it was a fantastically entertaining trip!
It was an honour to mentor her during her time in the business and it was truly a two-way relationship. I learned a great deal from her approach to life. I am a better person for having known our Olivia.
Jason and the girls were her life, such a beautiful family – Mollie and Sophie are each a perfect little mini me of their Mum.
I cannot adequately express how sad I am at her loss – heartbroken.
