Nnenna Nwagbara (nee Nwoke)

Dear Nnenna,

I am writing this message with a very heavy heart. I really wish you could read our messages or be amongst us to know how much we loved and appreciated you.

Thanks to our UK WhatsApp group, we began communicating in 2018 (post FGGC Calabar). Anytime we supported a sister, you would text/call me ensuring your generous contribution was received by me. You were kind, warm-hearted and optimistic.

I really looked forward to seeing you in May this year. I sent a text saying I really hoped to see you in Ayr. Although, I was upset when you didn’t respond on time. However, I was elated when you reached out early June apologising for not being able to join us the previous month. Nnenna, I wish I saved your text message. I didn’t know what you were going through. I didn’t know it would be the last time I would ever hear from you again.

Nnenna, two years ago when my heart was shattered in pieces because of the demise of my friends, you called me and told me not to cry. You reassured me that if God could perform miracles in your life, He will restore my joy.

I am writing you Nnenna to let you know my heart is broken again. We have been so devastated. We are a small group, we didn’t see this coming. I have pondered, I have enquired, I have lamented and I have cried. Nevertheless, as it is written in Psalm 48:14

For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death.

I know God is guiding your spirit and your soul. May God wipe the tears from the faces of your family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances.

Adieu Nnenna!

Margaret A
