Robert Orme made an impact far beyond the classroom in our family. Our daughter, Cameron, was one of those lucky pupils who enjoyed Grosmont in Year 7 (2010) and loved every minute of it, especially hunting for coins in the castle by moonlight. She also recalls being allowed to choose a book from his personal library as a prize for high academic achievement and still has the 2 classics which she chose back then. 
 
When she left LUS I started the adult education Art History classes with Robert, also enjoying art history trips to Florence, Madrid, Vienna & Berlin under his incredible tutelage. Robert inspired me to apply to University myself as a mature student, acting as my referee, and I was delighted to be awarded a First Class Honours degree in History in 2021. 
 
Robert made an impact on us both and we will be forever grateful to him and to LUS for the opportunities.
