Sarah Draper
Sarah was one of my favourite colleagues and friends at the Audit Commission. I always loved it when we worked together as Sarah was as sharp as a razor on work stuff and just such good fun to be around. A great judge of character with a dry wit.
We enjoyed social nights out together, one of which was to see ‘The Ladyboys’ in Nottingham Old Market Square. What a hoot, boy did we laugh. I also remember Sarah being one to make sure I got home safely after ‘one too many’ at my AC leaving do, seeing me to my door in a taxi. This is what Sarah did, she thought of others and made sure everyone was okay.
Sarah and I kept in touch when we left the Audit Commission. Our paths crossed on many occasions through our new jobs and we met for coffee and lunch on many occasions. I was not surprised to see Sarahs career flourish as she was such a capable and gifted person. Her organisational skills were exemplary. I was always in awe of her Christmas preparations, which were completed, normally by Amazon purchases, and wrapped way before i had even started on my preparations!
Above all else Sarah was devoted to her family and her parents, sister and nephews were often the topic of our conversations. She especially loved her holidays in Spain with her family and was always looking forwards to the next.
Dom, every once in a while, the world is graced with an exceptionally special person and your mummy was one of those people. Your mummy was the best. I remember how delighted she was when you came into her life and how she relished in telling Trudy and I of your antics as you grew and thrived. You brought a new sense of joy and fulfilment to her life which was lovely to behold. Know that you made your mummy very happy. I attach a couple of photos of your mummy being happy with us, her colleagues for you to remember this part of her life also.
