David Latief
Firstly my condolences to David’s family for their loss. As many have written here, David was a people’s person, he was down to earth and always had time for everyone that wanted to come and speak to him. I remember my first project with David at EY almost 5 years back. He came across as a happy, charming individual. He took time to speak to me and get to know about me as a person before we even discussed the project work. In very little time we connected more regularly and had a lot of banter over football and discussed family, cars, house project and holidays.
I remember when the news got announced of David being the Indirect Tax Leader and they very next day I went over to his desk to congratulate him. He didn’t just go in with a handshake to say “thanks”, he gave me a warm hug and said.. “I appreciate you taking time to come and wish me luck in my new role”. This summed up David as a person – a warm, caring and loving individual who cared a lot for others and his personality and presence lit up every room.
I have learnt a lot from you on being empathetic, caring and listening to people to get the best out of them. I will always cherish these skills you taught me for the rest of my life.
I will miss David as I’m sure will others as he had a special place in everyone’s hearts. RIP David – you were and always will be a true leader
