I had Chris as a Coach when I was at motherwell u13s I think he was one of the Coaches that really understood me as a person and as a player. I always remember after a game against celtic we’d just lost 8-1 he gatherd us all in a circle and had a talk with the team. I don’t really remember all of what he said but I remember him pointing at me and saying I was absolutely brilliant today and I should be proud of my personal performance and that I was one of the best players he’d seen at this age group. I always remember him saying that and how much confidence it gave me to continue to try become a footballer even when I maybe wasn’t the best player all the time. It’s always stuck with me and I never forgot Chris for it. He was one of those Coaches and people who had a truly positive impact on my career and life. I was very fortunate to have met Chris and I am so sorry for his family and friends and wish them all the very best.
