I spoke with David shortly after he joined us at McLarens, I was on the phone outside the Lloyds building in London and David holding the fort in the office. My immediate impression was that he was a very bubbly and positive person.

We met many times thereafter and he possessed such a unique gift for making people laugh, even during the toughest, most stressful times.

I saw both sides to David, initially the joker, the charmer, the witty man but also his tenacity during internal meetings, albeit in a very nice manner.

My last interaction with David was at a company night out on 26th July this year after a few beers in the Counting House, As I was leaving David bestowed some advice on how to manage the business, in his customary positive way. He always looked at ways to improve our service and to challenge the status quo if there was a better way. I gave him a hug and said “thanks for that David, enjoy the rest of your night and never ever change” He probably went on the shots thereafter !

I was deeply saddened to hear about David’s passing and my heartfelt condolences to his family. David was a valued member of our team, and his contributions and presence will be greatly missed. RIP David x
