Darren Bond

My heartfelt condolences go to Darren’s family, his sudden passing has left many feeling sadness and shock and will continue to for a long time.

At times like this, where we find it hard to process the grief, a small amount of comfort can be gained by remembering the best qualities and times we spent with the person. Darren made a huge impact on me, his compassion and encouragement were some of his amazing strengths, and he showed these to me from day one of being my line manager. From a personal perspective, Darren was patient and supported me, going above and beyond throughout one of the most difficult periods in my life, and for this I will be eternally grateful. I wouldn’t have got through this time without him.

The thing about Darren was, he always had a solution for everything! Whether it be work related, or personal – and it was this that made him a great leader. His humour was infectious, and he was always up for a good laugh. I have fond memories of leadership away days – I’m not saying he was competitive, but he gave every situation his all – entertaining the troops and bringing a bright energy to the room.

I could go on and on but it’s hard to talk about you in past tense, so I’ll just say I will never forget the person you were, and the difference you made to many.

Rest in eternal peace Darren!

P.s, thanks for all the Gin!

P.P.S, the picture of Darren used on the front is when I awarded Darren in 2022 for the most chaotic diary! I was truly impressed how he could be in 6 places at once, but still have time for you if you needed him!

Love to all ~ Kel x x
