Kome and I met on Matriculation day at Trinity College in 2017 which marked the beginning of our respective DPhil courses, and also our friendship. She was a gentle, genuine, and compassionate person, and a joy to be around. I will never forget her sincere words of encouragement, her empathy, and how happy she was for me after I successfully defended my DPhil thesis. Besides her wonderful qualities as a friend, I also really admired how passionate she was about her work and how she excelled in everything she set out to do. Before I left the UK we spoke about meeting again when I return for my graduation. I am so heartbroken to hear the news. I will miss her very much and forever cherish the memories we shared. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My deepest condolences to Kome’s parents, husband and family.
