Kenny McDade

It was a pleasure to have known Kenny during his time at the Cumberland. He always brought great humour and warmth to everyone he worked with, and it is clear how much he is loved and appreciated by everyone he touched. Kenny will be very greatly missed but I am sure very fondly remembered.

My stand out memory of Kenny was when he supported the testing of our new HR & Payroll system. We had never met in person at this point, and as a group we joked that he was the international man of mystery. Every time we met virtually Kenny would keep his camera off due to Wi-Fi strength. After a week or so of meetings we then had then grand reveal! Not before Kenny telling me his hair was longer than mine, which I struggled to believe until I saw his locks for my own eyes.

Kenny also went out of his way to support my husbands independent business when he was in Carlisle. Telling me that he always called in for some sweets if he was near the city centre. This was also greatly appreciated.

My summary of Kenny is that he was a lovely genuine guy with a heart of gold with a wicked sense of humour.

Sending my deepest condolences to Suzanne and the boys. Wishing you all strength, comfort, and peace during this very difficult time. I hope the memories shared of Kenny bring you all some comfort.
