Alex, it was a real privilege to have been able to call you not only a colleague but also a friend, thank you for the brightness you bought to all our lives.

I always loved your sense of humour, your creativity which truly inspired me, and our shared loved of reading which was the focus of lots of our chats.  Even in difficult times you dealt with each and every challenge with good grace, humour and tenacity.  You were and continue to be an inspiration.
