I remember when I started my psychology undergraduate at Bournemouth University in 2017, Andy was our year tutor, and he made the daunting perception of starting university much easier. I would always look forward to seeing Andy’s name on my timetable as I knew it was going to be a fun and interesting lecture. Andy was engaged with us as undergraduates, and I fondly remember him sitting through Trance, Memento, Trainspotting, and A Clockwork Orange; he really gave us a sense of community within the psychology department. I will always be grateful for Andy’s lecture on video games and violence; it made me realize that doing video games research was possible, and now I’m doing exactly that.
Words cannot express how saddened I was to learn of Andy’s passing; he was always thoughtful and kind, and will truly be missed.
