So sad to hear of Cheryl’s sudden & unexpected passing. Knew Cheryl from her early days based as Beckton, I was in the Trunk Sewers Depot at Hammersmith. The Trunk Sewers team was always a special group of characters and it took something to stand. Cheryl was someone, who once met, was never forgotten. As is the way in Thames we moved in different directions within the company but would cross paths on occassions, Cheryl was always the same. Bubbly, busy, always on the go, and keeping everyone on their toes. When she donned the H&S hat she went up a notch if that was possible, ensuring all her “Trunk Sewers” family were protected and Capital Delivery were delivering quality projects back to the team.
She has left a chasm in the Thames Water family which will be impossible to fill. We can only hope that her legacy will inspire others, a tenacious, caring, and passionate safety guru.
Deepest condolences to all who loved Cheryl. RIP Cheryl.
