David John Wilkie
So sad to hear that you are no longer with us David, taken away far too soon.
Thinking back to the times with the Naffi, the local supermarkets could never compare to the places you went to to set up shops for the forces.
Whenever you visited you’d tell us about your time in Germany, how you loved it over there, the country and the people. I thought you were a very brave man when you invited Aunty Betty and my mum over together, think you must have been having a moment, what a handful they must have been 🤣. But they both had a fabulous time with you and Sue.
Who would have thought that Afghanistan would be a place to go to set up a supermarket, but off you went, you loved a challenge didn’t you? All those stories you kept us entertained with.
I think Guernsey was one of your favourites too with the lovely weather and food on the island, the beautiful walks and scenery.
No matter where you and Sue went you always settled in quickly and made lots of friends, many who will be wanting to pay their respects on the 29th of February.
You will be missed by everyone who came into contact with you, you made a lasting impression on lots of people.
Rest in piece David and thank you for all the memories, say hello to Betty, Barbara and Linda, what a chin wag you will have up there together ❤️
