I was extremely lucky to have been in one of Mr Fell’s last chemistry classes. I have innumerable fond memories, from making “fireworks” in the fume cupboard on Open Day, discussing science and books together outside the classroom, and his wonderful eccentricities like his “time-keeping” and bulky headphones! He was so passionate and enthusiastic and there was never a dull moment in our lessons.

What made him a truly exceptional man was that he believed in everyone he taught. I thank him for believing in me.
