Jacquie Mudd

Well, Jac, living to 92, like you told me you would didn’t quite go to plan, in fact, you leaving us was most definitely not part of the plan.  You always said to me that you wanted my job when I retire, and my job was not the only one you were after, you had set your sights high and even told the outgoing principal that you would apply for her job, asking her for tips over a cuppa and cake.

We did well when we appointed you. We knew instantly when we interviewd you that you’d be right for the role.  You brought so much vibrancy, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to your role, always willing to listen, and to look beyond the obvious to find a solution.  You were unique, that’s for sure, you were loud, your language could be very colourful, and at times I had to tell you to reign it in, but I would not have wanted to change you for the world.  You were a wonderful, warm and loving person, you had so much to give and you gave generously.  You touched many people’s lives and every single person who had the pleasure to meet you will remember you fondly.  Life is so unfair, the good ones often get taken much too soon.  You may not have lived to 92, but you loved life and you certainly lived your life to the full, from throwing yourself out of a plane, to baking the most delicious cakes, to doing lots of different stuff, making memories with your kids and grandkids.

I’ll miss you “muddface”, the banter, the laughts, the hugs and the chats, but you will live on in my heart.  Rest easy my dear friend, love you always xxx
